The Organizers

Spa Industry Seminar 2010 is the seventh in a series of spa industry conferences organized by Turning Point Concepts Pte Ltd ("The Turning Point").

Background

When the first Turning Point seminar was held in 2003, few people had in-depth experience operating a spa business, and even fewer appreciated the industry's huge potential. As a result of the industry's rapid expansion, all were faced with a steep learning curve and numerous challenges.

In 2003, globally-oriented conferences offering expert guidance and peer level networking to senior spa industry professionals did not exist.

Responding to this situation, The Turning Point began offering high-level seminars aimed at providing owners, operators, consultants and others involved in the spa industry with the vital information they needed to successfully run and expand their businesses.

Donald J. Siegel
Managing Director - The Turning Point

The Turning Point is a Singapore-based consultancy owned and managed by Don Siegel. With an academic background in architecture and fine art, a career background in advertising, photography, graphic design and events organization, and a long-standing interest in alternative therapies and a holistic approach to personal wellbeing ... it is not surprising that the spa industry captured Don's attention.

In December 2002 Don established The Turning Point, a consultancy offering a broad range of creative services to resorts and spas. Less than a year later, in September 2003, he organized a seminar featuring topics of interest to senior professionals involved in the spa industry. Encouraged by the enthusiastic response to the first seminar, Don decided to organize similar spa-related events on a regular basis.

Spa Industry Seminar 2010 is the seventh event organized by The Turning Point.

Lynne Doiron
Manager, Special Projects - The Turning Point

A graduate of McGill University, Lynne left Canada in 1993 when her husband accepted a university teaching position in Singapore. While living in Singapore, she met Don and assisted him in promoting a small art gallery cum holistic center. When asked by Don to work with him at The Turning Point, Lynne took advantage of the opportunity, as she had a long-standing personal interest in holistic living, natural healing and spiritual growth.

"Turning Point's seminars bring together industry forerunners in the field of health and well-being, individuals who are contributing to the emergence of a collective awareness of holistic principles, corporate responsibility and environmental sustainability, and it is a pleasure to meet and work with them."
